Professional, fast and cleanPosted on Alan GarciaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a Home Depot shed installed and started pricing out insulation, drywall, paint, and baseboards with different contractors. It added up fast and felt like a lot to manage. When we called SGP, they just handled everything. They gave us one clear, turnkey price and took care of the whole process, which made it way easier on us. Everything turned out great, but what we appreciated most was no surprises just a smooth, straightforward job from start to finish.Posted on Wellington Loh JrTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Edgar from SGP drywall did a great job patching up the attic access after we had a new HVAC system installed. He was quick scheduling a time with us and also sent a reminder text the night before which I appreciate. He finished the job quickly and it looks great!Posted on Beaudry Garden DesignTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Edgar did a great job. He arrived on time, got the job done quickly and professionally. I highly recommend him.
Drywall installation is more than hanging sheets.
Most drywall crews are built for volume — tract housing, GC accounts, production speed. They're good at what they do. But when you're building a custom home, adding a room, or working through an ADU, volume isn't what you need.
We run the whole scope. Plan to cleanup. One crew, one point of contact, one process that stays clear from start to finish.
Good drywall is planned before it's taped.— how we run every job
The crew capacity of a production company — with the attention of a boutique.
Owner-builders need more than hangers. They need a plan.
You’re managing a construction timeline, coordinating inspections, and making decisions most production crews never have to deal with. Drywall needs to fit around that — not the other way around.
We’ve worked with enough owner-builders to know that clear scope and direct communication matter more than low per-sheet bids.
Owner-builders need clarity, not vague pricing.

Full-Service · What’s Included
From sheet count to final cleanup.
Drywall installation isn’t one task — it’s a managed scope. Here’s what we plan, coordinate, and handle on a typical residential job.
One crew, the whole scope.
Stocking, straight edging, beads, inspection, finish, cleanup — part of the job, not surprise add-ons.
Want a rough number before a formal estimate? Our drywall calculator helps you ballpark a sheet count — then send plans or photos for a real scope. Labor-only or full material + labor, your call.
Project Types · Residential
Built for the projects that need a real crew.
From a single-room addition to a full custom home, we size the crew and scope to the job — across San Diego County.
ADUs
Detached and attached ADUs hung and finished to current code — a steady part of our schedule throughout the year.
Custom & Spec Homes
High-detail residential drywall — high ceilings, custom edges, and finish levels that hold up to natural light.
Home Additions
New square footage tied cleanly into the existing home — matched transitions, beads, and texture.
Remodels
Kitchen, bath, and whole-home remodels — coordinated around other trades and your inspection timeline.
Garage Conversions
Turning garages into living space — insulation, fire-rated assemblies, and finished walls.
Multifamily Units
Larger residential projects where crew size, sound assemblies, and schedule all matter.
High & Vaulted Ceilings
Scaffolding, safe access, and flat results on tall and vaulted ceilings.
New Construction
Ground-up residential drywall — planned, stocked, hung, and finished with the right crew size.
Crew size set by schedule, access & deadline — not a fixed package.
Crew Capacity · Right-Sized
The right crew size for the job.
We don’t lock you into a fixed crew. Smaller remodels and full custom homes need different approaches — we staff accordingly.
- Smaller jobs (under ~200 sheets): around a 5-man crew
- Typical jobs (~300 sheets): around a 9-man crew
- Multifamily & larger: up to 15-man crews when needed
- Crew size set by schedule, access & deadline
Custom Finishes · Details
Custom homes need a crew that understands details.
Finish level matters when the light hits the wall. We work to Level 4, Level 5, and every texture in between.
- Level 4, Level 5 & smooth-wall finishes
- Orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel & imperfect smooth
- Bullnose, square bead, zip & reveal beads
- Black-window returns, niches & clean transitions
- Soundproofing: RC channel, Green Glue, rockwool
- Moisture-resistant board for wet areas

Drywall installation, answered.
How much does drywall installation cost?
Residential drywall installation typically ranges from $1.50–$3.50 per square foot installed, depending on finish level, ceiling height, board type, and crew size. ADUs and custom homes with high ceilings or Level 5 finishes run toward the higher end. Send us plans or photos — we'll reply with a real estimate based on your actual scope. See our cost guide.
How many sheets will my project need?
Sheet count depends on square footage, ceiling height, and how much cutting is involved. A typical room adds roughly 10–15% waste factor on top of net wall area. Our drywall calculator can give you a ballpark — or send us plans and we'll figure it out as part of the estimate process.
What's included in an estimate?
Our estimates cover material (board, screws, compound, tape, bead) and labor — hanging, finishing, and cleanup. We'll flag any scope questions upfront: insulation, scaffolding, framing corrections, or inspection coordination. No surprise add-ons after the fact.
Do you provide materials?
Yes — we handle material purchase and delivery as part of a full-scope job and stock it inside the job site. If you prefer labor-only with owner-supplied material, that's an option too. Just let us know upfront so we can price it correctly.
Can you install insulation?
Yes. Batt insulation is part of our scope when it's needed before the board goes up. We coordinate it as part of the hanging phase so you don't need a separate insulation contractor on smaller jobs.
Do you install 5/8" Type X, moisture-resistant board, or soundproofing assemblies?
Yes to all three. 5/8" Type X is standard for garages, ADUs, and fire-rated assemblies. Moisture-resistant board goes in bathrooms and wet areas. For soundproofing we install RC channel, resilient clips, Green Glue, and rockwool where the assembly calls for it. More on soundproofing.
Do you work from plans?
Yes. We prefer plans when they're available — they let us give you a more accurate estimate and catch scope questions before the job starts. If you don't have formal plans, photos and rough dimensions work fine for most residential jobs.
Do you handle nail/screw inspections?
Yes. On jobs that require an inspection before taping, we coordinate with your inspector and schedule the taping crew accordingly. We've done enough residential projects to know how to sequence around inspection timelines without losing days.
How quickly can you schedule?
Availability depends on what's on the schedule. Smaller jobs sometimes move faster; larger custom homes are usually booked a few weeks out. Reach out with your timeline — we'll be straightforward about when we can start.
What finish levels do you offer?
We finish to Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5. Level 4 is standard for most painted residential walls. Level 5 — a skim coat over the entire surface — is the right call for high-gloss paint, strong sidelighting, or high-end custom homes. We also do orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, and imperfect smooth textures.
Do you work on ADUs, additions, and custom homes?
Yes — these are a consistent part of our schedule. ADUs have specific fire-rating requirements we know well. Home additions need careful transition work where new drywall meets existing surfaces. Custom homes often have high ceilings, custom bead details, and Level 5 finishes — all things we handle regularly. See our ADU drywall page.
